It should be noted this is a lens converter not an actual lens. One of those things you screw onto the end of a lens 52mm diameter ring comes with it, so it will fit a 28-55 kit lens. Pretty disappointed with it

Alright. I have a Canon HV30 with a Brevis 35 adapter and a Canon EOS lens mount. This allows me to mount canon EF lenses on my video rig. So, I got this lens with the intention of using it on both my HV30 as well as my 40D. This lens DOES NOT MOUNT to your camera. The only way that you can mount it is ontop of another lens that you already have.

So, like another reviewer told us, this is not actually a lens; it is a lens attachment. It has a 52mm thread and comes with a 58mm-52mm step down ring. Luckily, I can use it on my HV30 with a 43mm-52mm step up ring that came with a lens that I bought with it.

It’s not like it’s worthless… But, you should know what you’re buying and the people that are selling on here are lying when they say “for Canon EOS / EF.” Just know that what you are buying will not work directly with your camera, and the lens is probably smaller than any lens you already have on it, so if you were to get a stepdown ring (say 72mm to 52mm) you would have a huge nice lens going to a small not-as-great lens.

Overall, I would not give it a one star if I knew what I was buying in the first place. It will work on my video rig, but not on my DOF adapter or on my 40D (Still Camera).

I wish that I would have read the real reviews at the bottom of the list before I had bought it. (Although I still would have bought it because of the price and knowing that it will work with my video camera)

Good luck =P

When i received the lens the shipping box was intact, however the box that the lens was in was crushed and held together with a rubber band. But, the lens was undamaged and works great. You can’t beat it for the price. I bought this for a film camera and it works fine.
