I don’t really like this product!
I find that is not comfortable the pop up flash.
The lens retraction is really TOO slow the same as the shooter (easy to lost THE moments).
The auto setting MANY times fails (really bad), you can’t trust on it to take a good picture… Is better to use manual settings.
The light capture is deficient the most of the times (it’s a shame, maybe the worst).
It was a big deception for me.

I have come to firmly believe that Canon’s point-and-shoot quality and clarity is simply unbeatable in the industry for many years now. I have owned SONY, Olympus, Fuji in the past. Tested several Panasonic and other cameras. Nothing even comes close to Canon’s quality of outputs.
Some people here compared this to Panasonic DMC-ZS3. HELLO ??? This new camera is 12.1MP while the DMC-ZS3 is 10MP only. You may ask whether extra 2.1MP makes a big difference? Well for 350+ bucks and for my kid’s close-ups and editable portraits, HELL YEAH!
This is an awesome compact camera with great beginner to professional features. It would take me many months before I realize its true potential but its intuitive manual and on-screen interfaces guide me whenever I need to play with advanced settings.
If you are on tight budget and want to buy just one camera for your family, this is it.
Of course, this camera has its flaws like bad placement of flip-up flash, slightly bulkier, but Canon’s quality outputs more than make up for such flaws.

This camera is great. I just got it in the mail a few days ago, and it works wonders!
I immediately started shooting some pictures, and the picture quality is unreal. Real HD (well…pretty much!). There are a lot of different features, and once you know how to use them (I am still learning by the way), you will be amazed and consider yourself a professional photographer! You can crop, change colors etc all in the camera. I love it! The only “bad” thing (which really isn’t that bad), is that I basically bought this camera to replace my old PowerShot, and thought that I could use the battery from the old one as an additional battery for the PowerShot SX200 IS. But, the battery from SX 200 IS is shorter and wider, so I can’t really use the old Canon PowerShot battery. But that’s ok though! The life of the battery is great!
The picture colors are ridiculous, really! They are so vivid. It looks like I am litterally holding what I shot. The zoom, no comments! It’s FANTASTIC! You can take picture from so far away! It’s awesome…I am very impressed and proud of this purchase! I agree with the “negative” reviews: its not for point and shoot users. But it can be. Just change the setting to “Easy” mode OR the “Manual” mode and you’re good to go!
It’s a little bigger than your regular digital cameras out there, but nothing crazy. It fits better in larger hands anyway…

I was stunned at the quality of the HD video and the zoom photos on a safari in Tanzania. The 12X optical zoom and image stabilization from a moving vehicle while photographing lions, rhinos, cheetahs, etc. was unbelievable! Other members of my safari want copies of my video and photos.
